The Supervisory Skillbuilder SeriesWho is this programme designed for?
This programme has been particularly designed to meet the development needs of newly appointed, or less experienced, supervisors and managers, and those who have been identified as having the potential for these roles.
What are the aims of the programme?
Capable, confident management is essential in motivating line employees and in creating a positive work environment. Inadequate supervisory management is the main cause of reduced performance, high staff turnover and guests' dissatisfaction. This programme is designed to develop supervisors' and managers' interpersonal and team leadership capabilities by building their confidence, skills, knowledge and understanding.
How is the programme structured?
This is a series of nine practical based, individual workshops to answer the primary training needs for front line supervisors and managers. To enable participants to be able to reflect on their learning, we recommend a gap of at least one week between workshops.
What is included in the programme?
There are nine units:
- You as a supervisor
- Leadership skills
- Time management
- Improving communication
- Handling problems and conflict
- Training and orientation skills
- Motivation and team building
- Staffing and scheduling
- Improving employee performance
How is the programme delivered?
For this programme we take a very learning approach to learning. We believe that participants learn best when they are enjoying themselves and are actively engaged in the process. Role-plays, discussions, case studies, quizzes and interactive video are all used to make this programme fast paced and enjoyable. Each participant also receives a workbook for each unit that he or she completes back in the workplace. This is to encourage reflective "on the job" learning.
How much does it cost?
This is a great value programme - £2000 for all nine units for a group of up to 15 delegates, or individual units are available as "tasters" at £250 each for a group of up to 15 delegates.
